At the very bottom tip of Illinois along the Ohio River and the border of Kentucky is a small town with a big name. Metropolis has embraced (as it should) Superman. The official ‘Home of Superman’ was authorized by D.C. Comics in 1972. Since then, Metropolis has become a Superman fan Mecca. There is a statue, a museum, the Daily Planet car and even a phone booth. It is a fun place to stop and take pictures. Too bad there is no terrific diner or coffee shop to meet Lois Lane or Jimmy Olsen and get the latest scoop for the Daily Planet.
